Guts unearthed this afro-caribbean gem “Vini Ouais” by Djingo Typical Band for his Straight from the Decks compilation. Inspired, Art of Tones created an unofficial remix—a heartfelt tribute to this French Guiana treasure. It quickly lit up dance floors, shared secretly among select DJs like GUTS, Antal, Radio Meuh… and many more…
Here comes the official release, the remix is set to become a dancefloor banger. Originally from French Guiana**, François Bonnaire**, better known as Djingo, settled in the Toulouse region. He quickly befriended local musicians who were curious about his musical roots.
Passionate and generous, Djingo shared with them the vibrant sounds of his homeland: kaseko, biguine, zouk… powerful, festive rhythms deeply rooted in history and dance. This musical fusion caught the attention of the Revolum label, which specializes in Occitan music. The group began to make a name for itself with the track “Vini Ouais”—a hybrid, danceable piece blending kaseko influences, touches of soul, and nods to the Latin and African-American music Djingo has always cherished.
The track got airplay on local radio and gradually gained wider recognition across France. Though still under the radar, the project resonated strongly with a niche audience of music lovers. Since then, Djingo has continued on his passionate journey, refining a more intimate repertoire tinged with soul and blues, alongside his group Djingo & Soul Syndrom. Today, “Vini Ouais” is being re-released on Heavenly Sweetness, continuing its path—free and elusive.
It keeps circulating among passionate diggers, curious DJs, and music lovers in search of hybrid sounds. Art of Tones delivers a dazzling remix, revealing an irresistible groove that wins everyone over.
